Here is my list which ultimately will show the 20 best movies made
Mulholland Drive (David Lynch, 2001) A bewildering trip into the darkness of the human mind and the labyrinths of time and space. Beautiful colour and music.
Nosferatu: Phantom der Nacht (Werner Herzog, 1979). A magic retelling of the Dracula story with great actors. Very beautifully shot and has magnificent music by Popol Vuh.
Fanny and Alexander (Ingmar Bergman 1982). A fantastic family story set in Uppsala. A broad and rich tapestry. Photo by light magician Sven Nykvist.
Tini zabutykh predkiv (Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors/Wild Horses of Fire; Sergej Paradjanov 1964). A rural drama set in the Carpathians. A story about love, grief and sorcery in beautiful colour.
